So, this one is kind of old, but I have not uploaded it here before. Since I was graduating this year, we were supposed to have a box with some small books with some of the students work in it. We were supposed to come up with a design for this box that would work for all the courses in general. So here is what I did.
Inside the big box, there would be one box each for illustration, graphic design, animation and photography. Those boxes looked like this.

My design suggestion did not get selected, but it did get a few votes, so I’m happy 🙂
The reason for there not being any new posts lately is because the last weeks of uni has pretty much taken up all of my time. But now everything has been handed in, and I can start to focus on other stuff again 🙂 I am still going to be in London for a few weeks for the degree show. But other than that, I am done! FREEDOM!
As you might already know, my final major project was about fake sideshow freaks. As well as making banners and a display, I also made a book. And here it is.
I will most likely not upload any pictures of the display until the degree show.
Being über busy with uni at the moment, it hasn’t been many updates on this blog lately. So I have decided to upload some old life drawings from first and second year. There will be updates on the current projects I´m working on soon. But for now, I hope you enjoy this massive update 🙂
I am going to miss life drawing when I´m done at uni…
So I was planning on being able to finish loads of work this Easter vacation, including the dissertation. I decided to start with the dissertation first, seeing how the deadline was closer than any of the other projects I have going, and also how the dissertation was the thing I was looking forward to the least.
Since I am fully aware that my spelling is usually full of typos and grammatical errors to severe for word auto-correct to fix, I were really happy When Abigail Moulder in my class said yes to proofread my dissertation. She makes beautiful collages and lino prints that you should check out at
As I have said before, my final major project is about fake sideshow freaks. Here are a couple of sketches for the banners that are supposed to hang on the sides of the display. I wanted them to be really tall, so I printed them out to be a bit taller than 2 meters each. They looked really good being huge and I am actually kind of pleased with how they look now, so I might not do to many changes to them.
I am currently preparing to go home for Easter vacation. But being that I have so much work to do for the Final Major Project and other projects, I kind of have a feeling that it will be more work than fun and relaxing. Looking forward to get home anyway though 🙂
I have done a lot of life drawing since I posted the last Life Drawing post. The thing I like the most about life drawing, is that it gives me the chance to just play around with painting and drawing tools I necessarily don’t use that much. And it is also nice to be able to focus more on the drawing process than on the actual finished drawing. So here are a few of the drawings I have made since last time.
The paint in her face suddenly went all crazy in the bottom drawing giving the model some huge lips. I decided to keep it.
My final major project will be a book about fake sideshow freaks, some posters and a display showing of fake sideshow freak memorabilia.
This is an early sketch of the display. So it might end up looking completely different when its done.
One of the things in the display will be a “real” Feejee mermaid doll. I have done the planning for it and am now waiting for it to be made by my friend Mirja Eriksen who works with making special effects. You should take a look at her webpage www.goblinsandbodyparts.com to see some of the stuff she has already made and is currently working on.
This is how I want it to look.
I am really exited about this project, and I am really looking forward to seeing the feejee mermaid when it is starting to take shape!
My final major project is about fake sideshow freaks, and how they usually never looked anything like the posters that was made of them. Don’t know why, but I have always found that sort of stuff interesting :p One of the freaks I have used is the Feejee mermaid. On the posters it would be shown as a beautiful mermaid, but in real life, it was usually just half a fish and half a monkey stuck together.
This was my first try at the feejee mermaid poster. I am happy with the feejee mermaid’s pose and the composition of the drawing, but I think I will use a different style of drawing for the final version.
